There Are Many Factors Which Affect the Success Rate of Hair Transplants

Many people in the Bay Area who suffer from thinning hair and are considering a hair transplant want to know the success rate of hair transplantation. However, there is no definitive answer. At Silicon Valley Hair Institute, hair transplantation is what we do, but even we cannot give a guarantee on the success of hair transplantation because there are a lot of factors involved.Hair transplant success rates can vary with the individual.

It would be like trying to give an absolute guarantee that you could drive from Foster City, where we are based, to San Francisco in 26 minutes up the 101. It is a distance of 22 miles and according to Google, it takes 26 minutes.

However, what happens if there is an earthquake or the wildfires we have been seeing? There could be a major accident. It could take you three hours! It is impossible to give a guarantee.

The same thing applies to the success of hair transplantation. There are a lot of variables that could include such things as genetics. So the short answer is – experts as we are – we don’t know!

What we can tell you is that over the years we have built up an ever-increasing number of patients who are absolutely delighted with the results that they have got. This is partly down to the fact that we use the ARTAS robotic method of hair transplantation. Yes, your hair transplant can be done by a robot or AI, or a computer: take your pick.

Extremely Accurate Hair Transplantation via a Robot

And our robot is extremely accurate when it comes to transplanting hair.

To begin with, you won’t finish up with a scar on the back of your head, which you will do if you have a manual hair transplant. With a manual transplant, the surgeon removes a strip of hair from the back of your head which is then cut into tiny pieces to be used in the recipient area. Unfortunately, this leaves a scar. It is no problem if you want to wear your hair long, but if you want to cut it short, the scar will be visible.

Our robot doesn’t do that. It removes a tiny group of between one and four hairs at a time which leaves such a minute scar that it is not visible. It then transplants the hair follicles into the recipient area at exactly the same angle, direction, and height of any existing hair in the area. This results in a much more natural look than can ever be achieved by a surgeon manually.

There are a lot of other benefits to using our robot for the success of hair transplantation. Our Dr. Canales offers all patients a free consult, so click on one of the links at the top of the page to find out more.
