Many Women Today Want to Improve Their Looks by Improving Their Eyebrows

Your eyebrows are a critical feature of your face, and they frame the eyes and affect your facial expressions. If you have thin eyebrows, perhaps as a result of plucking, but not necessarily so, you may want to consider eyebrow hair transplantation. An eyebrow transplant can totally transform your looks.

Look at certain celebrities such as Emilia Clarke, Cara Delevingne, and Jake Gyllenhaal. We are not suggesting that they have had eyebrow hair transplantation, (although it is possible), but they all have superb, great, thick, bushy eyebrows.

One personality who has had a transplant is Chrissy Teigen, who revealed in 2021 that she had had this done. She often had to use makeup to enhance her eyebrows, but not anymore. Her hair stylist, Jen Atkin followed her after seeing her results. Meagan Good and Robin McGraw have also had the surgery.

So yes, it can be done. But you need a specialist hair transplant surgeon to do this, such as our Dr Miguel Canales at Silicon Valley Hair Institute in Foster City. An eyebrow hair transplantation is very different from a scalp hair transplant because the way in which the eyebrows grow is different. The direction of the hair can change considerably, believe it or not, at different points on the eyebrow.

To begin with, the hairs that grow from the follicle emerge almost flat to the skin, whereas the hair on the head can be at 45°. They also grow in individual strands of hair rather than up to the four hairs that can grow from the follicle on the head. It means that when transplanting hairs to the eyebrows, it is essential to follow the natural direction of the existing hair extremely closely. This is another reason why you need a very skilled surgeon who, not to put too fine a point on it, knows what he is doing.

You Need A Hair Loss Specialist

Another thing is that, since the eyebrow hairs grow singly, the surgeon can only use single hairs, this means that the follicles taken from the head for transplantation have to then be divided into single hairs from what may be up to four hairs, and this has to be done using a stereomicroscope. You can begin to see why this is such a specialty and why it cannot be done – or at least should not be done – by any doctor other than an expert.

With that said, as you can imagine, an eyebrow transplantation can make a huge difference to your appearance, in the best way possible. Not only that, but once done, an eyebrow transplantation should last you for life.
