Foster City Clinic Is Ready to Share ARTES Hair Transplant Advantages
When it’s time to address hair loss, men and women can take many approaches. They might begin with over-the-counter or prescribed topical medication.
Sometimes, low-level laser therapy can encourage growth in hair follicles. Fixing a hormone imbalance can curb baldness and possibly thicken hair. When a Bay Area man or woman visits our best-in-class Bay Area hair transplant clinic, some have already tried these treatments. The results may have worked briefly, but the hair loss eventually continued. Now, they are visiting our clinic ready to discuss the more permanent hair restoration solution: robotic hair transplant surgery. We are always eager to share the ARTAS hair transplant advantages with our patients! But first, they want to know the process for the surgery. How long does robotic hair surgery take? Will they feel any pain during FUE/FUT surgery? And how long will it take to recover? When will they see results?
Our SVHI Team has Answers to Hair Transplant Surgery Questions in the Bay Area
Once the consultation is complete and a patient is ready to schedule the surgery, we assist them every step of the way. Our clinic team discusses payment options and work on a monthly payment plan that works for the patient.
Next, Dr. Canales will need the patient to schedule a time to come in and map the patient’s head with the ARTAS system. After that appointment, he reviews the data and creates a surgical plan. The plan includes where to extract healthy hair follicles and the right spots to place them. The Follicular Unit Extraction will be scheduled first, and a separate visit will be scheduled for the Follicular Unit Transplantation. Depending upon the amount of work that needs to be done, this process could be broken out into several visits or only a few.
During any surgery, the patient’s scalp will be numbed, and they should experience little to no sensation as Dr. Canales and the ARTAS system are working. But what happens before surgery is just as critical, and that is in the hands of our patients (although we offer plenty of precise instructions, too!
Here are a few things to prepare for as time goes by:
-
- One Month Before Surgery: massage the scalp daily for up to 30 minutes to help with blood flow.
- Two Weeks Before Surgery: Avoid drinking and smoking. Don’t cut your hair. Wash your hair before surgery (we’ll have special instructions for this).
- On the Day of Surgery: Wear comfortable and easy-to-remove clothes. Eat a healthy and light meal in the morning. Avoid any exercise routine.
- During post-op, patients can experience some tenderness, redness, and itching, which is normal. We usually recommend anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or aspirin to help. Any minor discomfort should disappear after a few days.
- We will provide instructions on how to sleep, when the patient can return to a rigorous exercise routine, and so forth.
What our patients really want to know is when they can expect to see fuller, thicker hair. The ARTAS hair transplant advantages are obvious. Hair growth is normally expected within three to four months, with results showing up from six to nine months. Once the hair follicles have matured in twelve to eighteen months, patients will see a natural-looking hairline with little evidence of the surgery. And that’s one of the best advantages to the ARTAS hair transplant robotic surgery!
