You Need a Specialist to Advise on the Right Type of Hair Transplant

There are different types of hair transplant procedure, such as FUT, FUE, etc., and so on, and when you are looking for a hair transplant, only a specialist can advise you on the right type of treatment for you. Every individual is different, and what is the best for one may be different from the best for another.A specialist is required for a hair transplant

At Silicon Valley Hair Institute, one of the procedures that we use is an FUE transplant in the Bay Area – Follicular Unit Extraction. This is carried out using the ARTAS robot and it has several advantages. Not the least of these is that there is no visible scar left in the donor area. If you have an FUT transplant, a strip of hair is surgically removed from the back of the head and this is used to provide follicular units of up to four hairs which are then transplanted one by one into the recipient area. While the strip to be removed is calculated vey precisely by the surgeon, it does nonetheless leave a scar which means that it is difficult to wear your hair short without it being visible.

No Visible Scarring

On the other hand, an FUE transplant in the Bay Area leaves no visible scarring whatsoever. This is because the robot extracts minute grafts individually from the donor area using a tiny punch that is only 1mm in diameter. The robot digitally scans the back and sides of the head and selects the best follicular units of 1 – 4 hairs and then robotically removes them one by one for transplant into the recipient area. The robot ensures that the follicular units to be harvested are spaced out so that the density of the hair left looks perfectly normal and natural.

Each follicular unit is then transplanted into the recipient area at exactly the same angle, elevation, and direction of any existing hairs in the area.

There are other advantages to an FUE transplant in the Bay Area apart from the fact that there is no visible scarring. There is increased survival of the transplanted follicular units, and the robot avoids damaging any pre-existing hairs in the area by making precise incisions next to them. There is also virtually no down time after the transplant.

As indicated earlier, only a specialist can advise on the best transplant for you, but an FUE transplant may well be the answer. Our Dr. Miguel Canales is a world expert on the ARTAS robot, and he offers all patients a completely free consult when he will be able to answer all your questions.
